India, March 9 -- A 43-year-old man from Assam lost his life after reportedly falling from a moving train in Balasore, police reported on Sunday, March 8.

The victim has been identified as Niran Biswas, who lived in Chintagaon village in Udalguri district.

Police said the incident took place near Sabira railway station, where Biswas allegedly fell from the train while it was in motion.

Officials added that he was returning home from Tamil Nadu at the time. Early reports indicate the fall may have been accidental as the train passed through the area.

His body was sent for post-mortem examination, and after the formalities were completed, it was transported back to Assam by ambulance, authorities said.
