Dibrugarh, Aug. 2 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday visited erosion-hit areas in Dibrugarh district and said the state government would consult experts from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT-G) to develop a long-term solution to the recurring problem.

Sarma inspected erosion-affected locations in Chabua, Balijan, Pukhurijan, Dinjan and Rohmoria and reviewed the situation on the ground.

In a post on Facebook, the Chief Minister said he had assessed the extent of erosion and was briefed on the factors contributing to the problem.
