Assam floods: Death toll rises to 75 as Sivasagar records seven more deaths
Guwahati, July 29 -- The death toll in Assam's floods rose to 75 on Tuesday after seven more people died in Sivasagar district over the past 24 hours, the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) said.
According to the ASDMA's latest flood bulletin, seven districts-Sivasagar, Charaideo, Golaghat, Jorhat, Nagaon, Sonitpur and Kamrup Metropolitan, remain affected by the floods. While the number of affected districts has declined, the situation continues to disrupt normal life in several parts of the state.
Official figures showed that 3,32,639 people have been affected by the floods. As many as 622 villages across 21 revenue circles remain inundated, with thousands of residents continuing to face displacement, damage to property ...
