Guwahati, Aug. 1 -- The number of people affected by floods in Assam fell to 1.92 lakh on July 31, although the death toll increased to 82 after two more fatalities were reported, according to the latest Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) bulletin.

The two deaths were recorded from separate locations, with one reported in the Nazira revenue circle of Sivasagar district and the other in Sonari of Charaideo district.

Officials said there were no reports of anyone remaining missing.

Flood conditions continued to prevail in Sivasagar, Charaideo, Golaghat, Jorhat and Nagaon districts, where 17 revenue circles and 379 villages were still affected.
