Guwahati, July 25 -- Assam's flood crisis persisted on Thursday, with the total number of deaths linked to floods and related incidents increasing to 61, according to the latest flood bulletin released by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).

The report said flooding is still affecting 12 districts, where 705,148 people from 856 villages in 37 revenue circles continue to face the impact.

Sivasagar, Charaideo, Jorhat, Golaghat, Dibrugarh, Hojai, Nagaon, Kamrup (Metro), Karbi Anglong, Biswanath, Dhemaji and Sonitpur are among the districts facing the worst impact.

The disaster has also hit the agriculture sector, with 56,606.77 hectares of agricultural land remaining submerged.
