Guwahati, April 10 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) brought in people from outside to influence the Assam Assembly elections, claiming the party lacked confidence in winning solely through the votes of the state's residents.

Addressing an election rally at Tentulia in North 24 Parganas district, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo alleged that individuals were mobilised from Uttar Pradesh to participate in the Assam polls. "A trainload of 50,000 people were brought to Assam from Uttar Pradesh," she claimed.
