Guwahati, April 9 -- Congress candidate from the Jorhat Assembly constituency and Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Gaurav Gogoi cast his vote on Thursday morning along with his mother, Dolly Gogoi.
The two voted at polling station number 52 at Devicharan Barua Higher Secondary Girls' School, where they stood in queue with other voters and followed the prescribed procedure.
Speaking after casting his vote, Gogoi said the moment held personal significance. "I feel fortunate that my mother, who could not be present during the Lok Sabha elections due to her health, is here voting with us today," he said.
