Bajali: In a significant political development following the 2026 Assam Assembly elections, Ranjeet Kumar Dass of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged victorious from the Bhawanipur-Sorbhog constituency, defeating Manoranjan Das of the CPI(M) by a wide margin.

Dass won the seat, maintaining the BJP's position in the region.

Supporters gathered in parts of the constituency following the result.

Party workers said the victory was due to public outreach, development initiatives, and engagement with local communities.

Following the victory, Ranjeet Kumar Dass is expected to take up development-related issues in the constituency.
