Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday allocated guardian districts to 16 ministers in his Council of Ministers, a move aimed at strengthening coordination between the state government and district administrations.

Announcing the allocations in a post on X, Sarma said the ministers would work closely with district administrations to help accelerate development initiatives and improve governance across the state.

Under the new arrangement, Union minister-turned-state minister Rameswar Teli was assigned Tinsukia and Jorhat districts, while AGP president Atul Bora was allotted Kamrup (Metro) and Dhemaji.
