Guwahati, April 12 -- The Assam Civil Society has voiced strong concern over what it termed as growing intolerance towards the media and opposition voices, alleging that recent developments following the conclusion of polling have raised serious questions about democratic conduct in the state.
In a statement, the organisation criticised Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for his remarks and actions targeting sections of the media and opposition candidates, stating that such conduct runs counter to democratic values and established traditions in Assam and the country.
