Guwahati, April 29 -- Ahead of the announcement of results for the Assam Legislative Assembly Elections 2026 on May 4, Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Goyal said all arrangements for the counting process have been completed across the state.

Addressing the media, Goyal said counting of votes will begin at 8:00 am on May 4 at 40 centres across 35 districts. Kokrajhar, Tinsukia and Jorhat will each have two counting centres, while Nagaon will have three.He added that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure smooth and transparent counting
