Assam: Zubeen Garg's songs should echo across state on September 19, says Nagorik Sanmilan
Guwahati, Sept. 19 -- Asom Nagorik Sanmilan has appealed to people across Assam to commemorate the first death anniversary of singer Zubeen Garg on September 19 by playing his songs throughout the day.
The organisation said Zubeen's death on September 19 last year had a profound impact on the people of Assam and described the public response as "unique and unprecedented".
"It will always be remembered as a remarkable phenomenon in the history of Assam," the organisation said in a statement.
Asom Nagorik Sanmilan called for Zubeen's songs to be played across the state, from Sadiya to Dhubri, from morning till evening, as part of the commemoration.
