INDIA, Dec. 8 -- A court in Assam's North Lakhimpur has convicted a woman under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO).
The convicted woman, identified as Samiran Begum of the Bogeenadi police station area in Lakhimpur district, was found guilty of seducing a minor girl and handing her over to a youth who had sexual contact with the victim in 2018.
A case was registered under Section 122/2018 at Bogeenadi police station against Samiran Begum and the youth.
While Samiran Begum was arrested, the youth fled.
The case was heard in the Special POCSO Court in North Lakhimpur under number 122/1.
