India, March 28 -- A powerful explosion at a rented house in Rajamaidam New Colony in Assam's Jorhat district on Saturday left two persons dead and another critically injured, triggering panic in the area.
The deceased have been identified as Noor Mohammad, who died on the spot, and Md. Iqbal, an eight-year-old boy who succumbed to his injuries later during treatment. A seven-year-old girl, also injured in the blast, remains in critical condition.
According to initial reports, the explosion occurred inside the rented residence, with its impact causing severe damage and leaving the victims grievously injured.
The injured children were rushed to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital, where the boy later died despite medical intervention....
