Tinsukia, Aug. 14 -- Assam's Tinsukia Police have been conducting anti-sabotage security checks at strategic and sensitive locations across the district as part of heightened security measures ahead of Independence Day.

Police personnel carried out checks at key installations and other vulnerable locations to detect and prevent possible security threats, with surveillance being stepped up in the run-up to August 15.

The anti-sabotage exercise forms part of the district police's precautionary security arrangements for the national celebration.
