Guwahati, April 26 -- Three young women died in a road accident in the early hours of Sunday after their car hit a parked truck in the Mathgharia area of Guwahati.

The accident occurred around 4 am near a hospital gate in Mathgharia, where a truck had been parked by the roadside after unloading goods. A Swift car coming from the Gitanagar side crashed into the stationary Tata 407 truck, bearing registration number AS 01 FC 4908.

The impact was severe, leaving the car badly damaged. All three occupants sustained fatal injuries, with two dying at the spot and the third later passing away at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.

Due to heavy damage, rescue teams used a JCB machine to recover the bodies from the wreckage.
