Guwahati, Sept. 16 -- A student of Tezpur University was found dead inside his hostel room on Wednesday, in an apparent case of suicide, sending shockwaves through the university campus.

The deceased was identified as Jyotisman Boruah, a fifth-semester student at the university's Integrated M.Sc. Chemistry programme. He was found hanging inside his room at Lachit Hostel.
