Assam: Raijor Dal alleges police excesses during Guwahati protest march over flood relief
Guwahati, Oct. 8 -- The Raijor Dal has alleged that several of its workers were injured during police action while being detained during a protest march towards Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's residence in Guwahati on October 8, demanding relief and compensation for flood-affected families in Upper Assam.
The party claimed that one protester suffered a serious injury to his private parts during the detention, while several others sustained injuries to their heads and chest. The allegations were made in a statement issued by the party, which accused police of using excessive force.
