Guwahati, April 16 -- A man has been taken into custody in Assam's Charaideo district over alleged connections with the banned insurgent organisation ULFA (Independent), officials said.
The accused, identified as Wang alias Noni, was detained during a security operation in the Namtola area under Sonari subdivision.
Officials suspect he may have functioned as an intermediary for the group, helping pass messages and provide operational support. Further details have not been released, as the investigation is still ongoing.
Authorities are questioning the detainee to assess his level of involvement and possible links to others.
