Assam: Long-serving Bogapani Tea Estate pharmacist resigns amid credential scrutiny
Digboi, July 14 -- A pharmacist at the Bogapani Tea Estate hospital in Assam's Tinsukia district has resigned after allegations of irregularities in his educational and professional credentials surfaced during a verification exercise initiated by the management.
The controversy centres on Kameswar Kalita, who had been serving at the estate hospital since the mid-1990s. Official records accessed by this correspondent show that he was recruited when Bogapani Tea Estate was managed by Namdang Tea Co. (India) Ltd., before the estate later came under the management of MacLeod Russel India Ltd.
