Guwahati, Nov. 5 -- A youth died after his car crashed into a gas tanker at Hemabari in Assam's Nagaon district on Wednesday, November 4.

The deceased was identified as Ibti Sam Jahan, son of late senior journalist and professor Abu Hanifa.

The accident took place in Samaguri when the tanker was making a U-turn.

Eyewitnesses said Jahan's car rammed into the rear of the tanker as it approached from behind. He died at the spot.

Jahan was a fifth-semester undergraduate student at Anandaram Dhekial Phookan College in Nagaon.

Personnel from Samaguri Police Station reached the scene and recovered the body for post-mortem examination. Further details of the accident are awaited.
