Doomdooma, Sept. 28 -- The Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee staged a protest in Assam's Diphu on Monday, burning effigies of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The protesters demanded Kumar's immediate arrest and removal from office.

Held at the Karbi Anglong district headquarters, the protest included a foot march by Congress workers. They started from the KASA gate and marched through Gurudwara, Matipung Tinali and Diphu Market before returning to the starting point.

The protest was part of the Congress's nationwide campaign against the Chief Election Commissioner.
