Assam: Karbi Anglong closes waterfall picnic spots amid rising flood concerns
Guwahati, July 21 -- The Karbi Anglong District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has announced the closure of all waterfall picnic destinations across the district until further notice due to the ongoing flood situation and concerns over public safety.
The directive, issued by District Commissioner and DDMA Chairperson Anamika Saikia, said the precautionary measure was necessary in view of the worsening weather conditions and the risk of accidents in vulnerable areas.
According to the order, access to all waterfall picnic spots has been restricted with immediate effect to prevent possible loss of lives and damage to property during the current situation.
