Assam: J.P. Nadda reviews flood damage in Sivasagar, says normalcy will take time
Guwahati, Aug. 5 -- Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda on Wednesday said the recent floods had caused widespread devastation in Assam and that normalcy would take time to return, while assuring full Central support for relief and rehabilitation.
Accompanied by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Nadda visited Nepalikhuti village along the Assam-Nagaland border in Sivasagar district, one of the worst-affected areas during the July 19 floods. He interacted with affected families and reviewed the damage caused by the deluge.
"I have visited the flood-hit Nepalikhuti area. Along with CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, I have witnessed the scale of devastation. The damage is so huge that it will take time for normalcy to return," Nadda told reporte...
