Guwahati, July 12 -- Heavy rainfall once again disrupted normal life in Guwahati on Sunday, triggering severe waterlogging in the 9th Mile and 10th Mile areas and forcing authorities to divert traffic on key routes.

According to officials, light motor vehicles (LMVs) travelling towards Guwahati are being diverted at Digaru, while vehicles leaving the city are being rerouted from Koinadhora. Commuters heading out of Guwahati have been advised to use the Narengi route to avoid inundated stretches and traffic congestion.

The latest spell of rain came a day after intense showers on Saturday evening inundated several parts of the city due to artificial flooding, disrupting traffic and affecting residents in low-lying areas.
