India, Feb. 11 -- With the objective of boosting agricultural productivity and promoting self-reliance among farmers, a two-day Kisan Mela was held in Haflong, in Assam's Dima Hasao district.

The event was organised by the Department of Agriculture in collaboration with allied sectors under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme - Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA).

The mela, which began on Tuesday, aims to familiarise farmers with modern agricultural practices while encouraging sustainable and region-specific farming methods.
