Guwahati, May 11 -- The State government reported to the Gauhati High Court that the Wildlife Institute of India's recommendation to realign the Guwahati ring road project along the Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary's boundary has been included in the project's wildlife passage plan, which has been approved by the National Board for Wildlife's standing committee.
The government stated that forest clearance has been secured for the diversion of 7.12 hectares of forest land for the project in an affidavit submitted to the court in response to a petition about the project.
