Pathsala, Sept. 14 -- A jewellery store in Pathsala was allegedly burgled in the early hours of Monday, with thieves reportedly escaping with gold worth around Rs 2 crore and Rs 16 lakh in cash, prompting demands for tighter security in the busy commercial town.

The theft took place at a Maa Manasha jewellery store, where the miscreants allegedly damaged the CCTV cameras before carrying out the burglary.

The incident has raised concerns among residents and traders, particularly as Pathsala has reported several theft-related incidents in the past.
