Assam: Flood situation remains grim in Lakhimpur district

North Lakhimpur: The flood situation in Assam's Lakhimpur district remained unchanged on Tuesday as incessant rainfall and rising river levels inundated several villages and disrupted road connectivity in multiple areas.
Heavy rainfall in neighbouring Arunachal Pradesh caused the Jiadhal and Kumotiya rivers to swell, flooding at least a dozen villages under the Subansiri Revenue Circle in Dhakuakhana sub-division. Among the worst-affected villages are Bordoibam, Chokolaguri, Gohoraguri, Trishul, Lezua, Dasgaon, Beelmukh and Ga-Dangorchuk.
The district administration has set up a relief camp at Mazgaon LP School in Bordoibam, where hundreds of affected residents have taken shelter.
