Assam: Flood situation improves, over 5.24 lakh people remain affected; death toll reaches 68
Guwahati, July 27 -- More than 5.24 lakh people across nine districts of Assam remained affected by floods as of July 26, with Charaideo, Sivasagar and Jorhat accounting for the largest share of the affected population, according to the latest flood bulletin issued by the Disaster Reporting and Information Management System (DRIMS), Assam.
The report said 524,733 people from 763 villages under 24 revenue circles in Charaideo, Golaghat, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Hojai, Kamrup, Kamrup (Metro), Nagaon and Dibrugarh districts continue to face the impact of the floods.
