Guwahati, Aug. 31 -- Borluit Productions has announced October 9, 2026, as the new theatrical release date for its debut Assamese feature film Dipholu. The announcement was made at the Gauhati Press Club on Monday.

The film was earlier scheduled to release on August 21, but the release was postponed due to the continuing impact of floods across Assam. The makers have now rescheduled the release for October 9.

Directed by Nekib and produced by Jekiv, Dipholu marks Borluit Productions' entry into feature-length cinema following its short films. The film is based on Assamese village life and combines humour, emotion and social themes while portraying the culture and traditions of Assam.
