Dibrugarh, Sept. 3 -- A Dibrugarh court on Thursday convicted the accused in six separate criminal cases, including five murder cases, and sentenced five of them to life imprisonment in judgments delivered on the same day.

The Court of the Additional Sessions Judge, Dibrugarh, found the five accused guilty under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sentenced each to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000.

The five murder cases were Sessions Case No. 131/2019, Lahowal PS Case No. 43/2019, State vs Sukram Murah; Sessions Case No. 227/2022, Dibrugarh PS Case No. 2239/2021, State vs Rajib Sukrang; Sessions Case No. 188/2022, State vs Biki Chetia; Sessions Case No. 258/2023, Moran PS Case No. 49/2023, State vs Raju Chutia; and S...
