Guwahati, May 16 -- Himanta Biswa Sarma on May 16 inaugurated what has been described as India's first artificial intelligence-driven and digitally integrated "phygital" banking branch in Guwahati, aimed at boosting financial inclusion and supporting small businesses and young entrepreneurs.

The new AI-enabled branch of Slice Small Finance Bank was launched on GS Road in the city.

Addressing the gathering at the inauguration, Sarma said the initiative marks another milestone in strengthening an inclusive financial ecosystem across urban as well as underserved regions of Assam. He noted that the launch aligns with the state government's focus on attracting technology-driven investments in recent years.
