India, March 4 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the Dinesh Goswami Flyover at Bharalumukh on Wednesday, a move aimed at improving traffic flow in one of Guwahati's heavily used routes.
The flyover, spanning 1.2 kilometres and costing around Rs 99 crore, links Machkhowa to Bharalumukh, with an additional connection to the Santipur Sluice Gate.
Authorities say it is expected to ease traffic and make daily travel in the area more convenient.
Sarma explained that the section from Santipur features two lanes, while the road descending towards Bharalumukh has a single lane. The return route towards Santipur is designed as a one-and-a-half-lane elevated corridor.
