Guwahati, July 29 -- On the occasion of International Tiger Day on Wednesday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reiterated the state's strong commitment to wildlife conservation, saying Assam has emerged as a leading example of tiger protection and biodiversity preservation through sustained conservation efforts.

In a post on X, Sarma said India's tiger conservation programme has achieved significant milestones over the years, with Assam making an important contribution through focused wildlife protection measures and scientific management of forest habitats.
