Guwahati: Tshering Tobgay, Prime Minister of Bhutan, is on a two-day visit to Assam starting Sunday, with focus expected on strengthening India-Bhutan cross-border links and development cooperation.

During his stay, he will call on Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya at Raj Bhavan.

The Bhutan Prime Minister's trip follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the country in November last year.

During that visit, both sides held discussions on several cooperation plans, including a proposed rail link between Bhutan's Gelephu and Assam's Kokrajhar.
