Dibrugarh: Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) has initiated a high-level inquiry into allegations that a surgeon allegedly denied a patient treatment under the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme and advised the patient's family to procure medicines from outside sources.

The controversy emerged after local BJP leader Ujjal Kashyap highlighted the issue through a social media post, alleging that the patient's guardian was initially informed that surgery would not be conducted using medicines covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
