India, Feb. 8 -- The All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Sunday launched a sharp attack on Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, accusing him of resorting to "media trials" and diversionary politics instead of adhering to due judicial process.
Speaking at a press conference at the Sribhumi District Congress office, AICC Media Cell Convenor Nighat Abbass said that if the Chief Minister possesses any concrete evidence linking Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi to Pakistan, he should approach the court and file a formal FIR rather than making allegations in the public domain.
Abbass alleged that Sarma's statements reflected political frustration and aimed to tarnish the image of the Congress leadership through insinuations before the media. "...
