Assam: AASU denies links to ULFA-I after senior office-bearer's arrest in Tinsukia

Guwahati: Following the arrest of one of its senior office-bearers in Tinsukia in connection with alleged fund transfers linked to ULFA-I, the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) on Monday clarified that the organization has no association with violence or the ideology of any militant outfit.
AASU president Utpal Sharma and general secretary Samiran Phukan stated that the student body has never endorsed the ideology or activities of ULFA or any other militant group.
