Guwahati: UPSC aspirants from Assam who clear the Civil Services Preliminary Examination will now receive financial support from the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) under a newly launched assistance programme.

As part of the initiative, 25 successful candidates will be given a one-time grant of Rs 50,000 each to support their preparation for the next stages of the examination.

The student body announced the scheme on Sunday through a video message issued by AASU president Utpal Sarma as the UPSC prelims were conducted across the country.
