Assam: 24x7 flood control room launched in Sivasagar to support farmers amid crop losses
Guwahati, July 20 -- The Sivasagar District Agriculture Department has opened a 24x7 Flood Control Room to support farmers facing crop losses due to the ongoing flood situation in Assam, Agriculture and Irrigation Minister Pijush Hazarika said on July 20.
The facility will allow farmers to report damage to their crops, helping officials assess losses quickly and initiate steps for compensation and relief assistance.
The Control Room is operating under the guidance of the Sub-Divisional Agricultural Officer, Sivasagar, with three Assistant Agricultural Inspectors assigned for coordination and public support.
