Tinsukia, July 18 -- At least 20 cows have died under suspicious circumstances over the past two days at the Tinsukia Gaushala in Jyoti Nagar, while several others remain critically ill, prompting the management to seek a high-level investigation into the incident.

A team of veterinary doctors from the Animal Husbandry Department has been deployed at the Gaushala and is continuing intensive treatment to save the affected animals. The sick cows are under constant observation, with veterinarians administering medicines and monitoring their condition to prevent further casualties.
