Guwahati, April 7 -- Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bosiram Siram on April 6 called for the Chief Minister's resignation following a Supreme Court order directing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to conduct a preliminary enquiry into alleged irregularities in the award of public contracts.
Welcoming the court's directive, Siram described it as a significant development and alleged that it underscores concerns over corruption, nepotism and misuse of power under the BJP-led state government.
He claimed that contracts worth over Rs 1,270 crore were awarded to individuals with close familial or political links, terming it a breach of public trust and a violation of transparency and accountability norms.
