Dibrugarh, Oct. 1 -- Security forces have reportedly foiled an alleged ambush plan in Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang district with the arrest of two suspected ULFA-I cadres and the recovery of an AK-series rifle, an improvised explosive device (IED) and a cache of arms and ammunition.

According to reports, around 20 militants affiliated with ULFA-I and the NSCN (K-YA) faction were allegedly planning to ambush security forces in the district.

The arrested ULFA-I cadres have been identified as Sahadev Rai, alias Bappi Asom, and Siraj Asom, alias Siraju Alam.

Following the arrests and weapons recovery, Assam Rifles, in coordination with other security agencies, launched a search operation in the area to track down other suspected militants...
