India, Feb. 16 -- An active cadre of the NSCN (Akato) faction surrendered before security forces in Khonsa town of Tirap district in Arunachal Pradesh, on Sunday.

The individual has been identified as SS Sergeant Inno Mosha Pangsa (Chang), 23, a resident of Tuensang village in Tuensang district of Nagaland. He joined the organisation on April 19, 2022.

An official said, "Based on credible intelligence from 3 CIB, corroborated by 19 WEU at 12:00 hours on February 15, regarding the presence of an NSCN (Akato) member in Khonsa Town, a focused operation was launched by Khonsa Battalion. Our sources were tasked to establish contact and persuade the individual to surrender."
