Pasighat, Aug. 8 -- Amid widespread flooding across Assam, personnel of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) have organised a voluntary relief initiative to support families affected by the deluge.

Sivasagar, Charaideo, Jorhat, Golaghat, Dhemaji, Sonitpur and Bajali are among the districts reporting significant flood impacts, with several villages inundated and damage reported to roads, embankments and agricultural land.

The Dikhow and Dhansiri (South) rivers have crossed their respective danger levels in several areas, prompting residents in vulnerable locations to move to safer places and relief camps.
