Doomdooma, Aug. 1 -- Assamese graffiti artist Neelim Mahanta has created a mural in Demow, Sivasagar, calling on the Centre to declare the ongoing flood situation in Upper Assam a national disaster.

The mural has drawn widespread attention on social media and renewed discussion on the impact of Assam's recurring floods and the demand for stronger government intervention.

Sharing the artwork on social media, Mahanta wrote: "How many more tears? How much more suffering? How many more dead bodies? How many more ruins must we witness before their neglect comes to an end?
