India, March 11 -- Authorities in Nuh have booked twelve people for allegedly assaulting Meghalaya Police officers and attempting to free a detainee late Tuesday night.
The incident unfolded near Pinangwan police station, where officers fired shots in self-defense, resulting in injuries to a local man.
Tarif Khan, a resident of Shikarawa village, was struck in the leg and is now receiving treatment at PGI Rohtak; his condition is stable.
ASP Ayush Yadav of Nuh told reporters that the case stems from a complaint filed by Sub-Inspector Arkidalang Wahlang of Meghalaya Police, stationed in East Khasi Hills district.
