Guwahati, April 10 -- Congress MP and Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Gaurav Gogoi on Thursday stepped up his attack on Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, alleging that the latter appears "panicked" since the press conference by senior party leader Pawan Khera on alleged foreign assets linked to the Chief Minister's family and multiple passports held by his wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sarma.
Gogoi accused the Chief Minister of using abusive language and attempting to intimidate journalists and media organisations, asserting that political authority cannot be used to suppress facts. He said Sarma's recent reactions reflected "desperation" rather than confidence.
