India, July 15 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has signed an agreement in principle with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) to deliver up to $235 million in emergency food and nutrition assistance for millions of people facing severe hunger and malnutrition in Sudan and Ethiopia. The initiative is being implemented under the Food for Peace Act and will mobilise more than 110,000 metric tons of U.S.-grown agricultural commodities.
